Does anyone know where I can get a lesson on how to use a chain saw properly?....a one-day workshop or something similar?

Lol - Lizz - I hope not - we'll be short of "bodies" for the Caithness.org Christmas night out  Or - there again - maybe not!

Mother Bear - don't know if this link will help, but try it anyway - originally set up by the Scottish Executive to make Health & Safety procedures easier for SME's (businesses with fewer than 250 employees) Drop them an email & see what they say - I know they have a rep in Inverness. Would be interested to know if you get a response.

For goodness' sake be careful. I know a guy who was daft enough to use one up a ladder, and cut his left hand off when the ladder toppled!

Oh dear George! That's exactly why I want to get proper tuition!
Thanks for the link Moira, I will drop them a line.

Andrew Chadwick at Forss Cottage may be able to point you in right direction. He creates designs using pieces of wood and chain-saw. Saw him at County Show. I know he works at Dounreay but don't have any phone numbers.
