My LG Flatron W2246T displays a picture for a few seconds and then displays a black screen, I have tried with other PC's and i get the same problem. If i unplug or reboot the screen the same thing happens. i suspect it is something to do with the capacitors but i have no idea how to get access to them, i would also like help with that?

thenh take it back to where you brought it
and get it repaied under SOGA.

It was bought it through an ebay, it wasn't through an actually company so I don't think that is an option, any ideas what may be wrong?

what do you mean not an actual company?
was it new?
if so then they are a retailer and you have recourse
unless it was just joe public

(http://reviews.ebay.co.uk/Sale-of-Goods-Act-Quick-Facts-faulty-goods-etc?ugid=10000000007812520)I am confused, the monitor was bought through a company electricals4less (http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/electricals4less) so should i send them a message demanding a replacement? And if one isn't given then complain to ebay. There is also another hitch, 'seller refurbished' guessing that means SOGA doesn't apply?

matters not that its refurbished

i would simply send the seller an email refering to the date of the sale of the item through ebay.
pointing to the fact that it has nowveloped a fault and under SOGA you require it repaired or replaced.

keep things like that and simple for now.

see how the retailer responds

you ARE entitled to get it fixed or replaced for free.

as for issues like postage & inspection fee [that are entitled to get you to arrange an 'inspection' to confirm, by a local eng, the fault]

these should also be refunded.
