View Full Version : Plea for Band Information (1959 to Present day) almost!

Hello!

After six years of research my web site: http://www.KinemaGigz.com (http://www.KinemaGigz.com) is still incomplete, not that I ever expect to complete it fully … but …

Of the 1170 (ish) bands to play The Kinema Ballroom in Dunfermline Fife, I’ve nailed info about 950-odd of them but I still have 218 about which I know NOTHING at all!

I guess it’s entirely possible that some of these more minor outfits may have hailed from the frozen north ... and so (getting eventually to the point) … I’d like to ask to harness the considerable power of your vast readership to assist me to find & record this important information for posterity?

I need information (any information, no matter how small) about the bands listed below. I know the vast majority will have had nothing to do with Caithness, but just maybe some did and came south to play with us here in Fife?

For ‘spam’ reasons I only publish my email address in a secured fashion on the ‘Feedback’ page of my site http://www.kinemagigz.com/feedback.htm (http://www.kinemagigz.com/feedback.htm) so please contact me through that page.

I’ll of course be delighted to credit each contribution and add the author's names to my ‘Valued Contributors’ list on my ‘Sources’ page too.

Can YOU help?

Colorado are the only "north" band I recognise. Sorry can't provide any more info.

This isn't much help, but I've heard of a band called Portnoy's Complaint. Somebody famous spent early days in it, but I can't remember who!

The Caithness/Golspie 'Colorado' were formed in 1978 I believe. Unfortunately the 'Colorado' I need, supported 'Colosseum' in Dunfermline in 1971!

Many thanks for your replies guys, much appreciated.
