I was in Inverness Tesco today and was amazed at their prices for freeview, dvd players tv's etc. Phones are very cheap, I got a lovely football phone (phone in shape of a football) for £1.99. Their food selection is amazing, even for vegetarians. Didnt buy any as I will be one of the first into the new store.!!
The clothes are great, especially the ladies tops for Christmas, lovely sparkley tops.

I just cannot believe that people are getting excited about "Tesco".... jeez I remember when it was things like landing on the moon, the concorde's maiden flight etc. etc. which got people excited.... Tesco? good god, get a grip it's a supermarket! An English company too, coming to steal your money in exchange for factory farmed meat and heavily processed junk food...... for more information on the devil, masquerading as "tesco", click here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesco).

Fran -Remember to pm me a description of the one you buy - I would hate if we both bought the same one & "over-dazzled" the Orgers at the Christmas night out.[lol]

I'll be over with your cushion soon, probably on the way back from TESCO ;) (very plush by the way I've been road testing it in the nude (bare buttocks) an extremely serviceable, comfy cushion)

Let us be excited, we have been living in the dark ages long enough and been over-charged by some greedy local buisnesses some of us did'nt have a choice but to pay through the nose for things.

Well said.
Of course I am excited about the opening of a new shop - Tesco coming is great. Anyway is it any business of del monte's whether I am excited or not?

I can't see our excitment affecting del monte's daily life in the slightest.

With all this excitement, my worry is the huge vacuum that will be left once the realisation sets in that Tesco has not significantly enriched our lives.

Inverness has three Tesco stores but I do not see its populous going about their lives looking in the least bit happier than they were before they "Saw the Lights"

Inverness people yearn for shopping trips to Glasgow and Edinburgh, those in Glasgow and Edinburgh live only for the great pilgrimage that is the Metro, rather than Mecca.

In a consumer world where spending equals happiness, the perfection that is "Shopping Heaven" is always slightly out of reach.
