I have a slightly different but similar view:

I don't think GPs/Doctors will have to recruit I think GPs/Doctors are purposely being set up to fail by the government. As much as I hate some business artifice healthcare commissioning is a specialist skill. After GPs/Doctors fail the government will say that private commissioning expertise will be needed: basically large private corporations that will operate like de fact health insurance companies. These companies will be able to pick and choose patients with no geographic responsibility. Small differences will eventually emerge and people will be able to buy top-up plans etc... and boom, the walls come tumbling down and England has no health service.

I doubt it will happen in Scotland as the Scottish Government what I am concerned about this is England changing its mind half way through and then poaching medical talent from Scotland.

I am disappointed in "Alice in Blunderland" I thought she would have commented on this by defending the future privatisation.
