Don't wait until the lucrative fundraisers are gone
GROUP’S seeking a stall at the forthcoming Wick HarbourFest event could miss the boat if they don’t register their interest.
There is considerable “word-of-mouth” support for the fundraising opportunities but the organising committee is concerned that unless groups declare their interest, formally, they will lose the chance of giving their coffers a boost at the popular three-summer event, which celebrates the Queen’s Jubilee Year, this time round.
Spokeswoman Liz Richard-Jones said: “Many of the 2009 stallholders have indicated they wish to have a presence at this year’s event but, so far, they have not registered with us. The danger is, that if they leave off registering on the basis that there’s plenty of time, the closing date – May 18 - will come and go and they will be too late. The message is-“register now” in order to avoid disappointment.”
