Father's tribute to road crash victim son

THE father of a Wick teenager, killed in a car crash, is organising a memorial drive to try to hammer home a road safety message and prevent similar tragedies in the future, according to today's Press and Journal.
George Durrand is also offering support to other families who have lost loved ones in road accidents in Caithness and elsewhere. Mr Durrand is organising the car cruise tribute, not only to his son Christopher, but also to the victims of crashes in the county over the past couple of years.
The cruise, on April 8, will start from Mr Durrand’s garage in Roxburgh road, Wick, and the last stage of the route will be the stretch of the B876 where his son Christopher (17) died, when his Ford fiesta veered off the road near Bower and hit a tree, last month.
