Pet Rodent

This part of the show will be open to any rodent entry, please ensure that you bring them in a very secure cage, preferably a lidded plastic tank such as pets at home sell, it is easier to see them in a clear plastic tank than in cages and rota-stack type cages. We dot not provide the penning for them so please do not bring along a hamster in a cardboard box.
Entry £1.50 per rodent.

Mouse, Hamster, Rat, Gerbil etc.
Please ensure rodents either have water or some sliced veg ie apple or carrot which will give them fluid.

Just to reassure people who have never entered a show on how easy it is

Guide to entering your first show

First and foremost you have to find details of a show you want to enter

Get a schedule and decide which classes you want to enter your pet into, If you are not sure contact the secretary who is there to help you

Contact secretary with your entry before the closing date, some secretary's will take an entry after the closing date so it is always worth a call to check.

Before the show give your pet a groom to remove loose hairs, Give any mucky bits a quick clean with a non scented baby wipe.

Bring it along in a suitable carrier, there are pens for rabbits and guinea pigs at the show but rodents must be taken along in appropriate tanks.

Make sure you bring their water bottle, you can bring along some veg, hay etc if you wish

When you arrive at the venue just ask for the secretary, ask anyone, as everyone has been a newbie at some point and totally understand.

Don't be put off by the official looking white coats, we only wear those to protect ourselves and clothes from nails and fur.

You will be given your penning slip with your pen number, you then find your pen number and put your pet there, If you have rodents in tanks a sticker will be given to stick on your tank.

That's the hard part over.
Grab a cup of tea and mingle with others, you can get involved by stewarding on the tables, this caneither be taking animals to and from their pens or just holding them at the table, you can sit back and relax but you will meet lots of people like yourself who are there for the enjoyment of the day and to learn a little.

Don't be afraid to ask questions, that is how we all learn and we were all in the same boat, nobody was born just knowing things.

Lastly and most importantly HAVE FUN
