Just to alert fellow orgers to a phone scam currently underway. I received a call over the weekend - they had my name and number correct. Told me that I was due £2000 because of a bank loan I took on some years ago and I was mis-sold insurance on the loan. Now, as I haven't taken on a bank loan since the 1980's I knew it was a scam. I suspect that they would have next asked me for bank and account details, but it didn't get to that stage. I challenged them - what loan, what bank, how much, what period - and they hung up. Thought I should pass this on. Be aware!
