Police alert after Skye concern
Following reports of suspicious activity by people selling items door to door in the Skye area police are advising people to take care when approached by anyone offering to sell them goods at their home.
It is appreciated that many such callers are genuine, however Northern Constabulary would like to urge the public at large, to always check the identification of any such caller and never leave people unattended in your home.
Householders are advised that if they are unsure of callers authenticity, or are in any way uncomfortable with them, that it would be best to decline them entry to the home.
The public are asked to report any suspicions that they have regarding callers to their homes or the home of any other persons in Skye and Lochalsh to Portree Police station on 01478 612888.
