Hello listers, I'm new to the forum.
I wonder if anyone has any info on Donald Mackay, who was a shepherd at Bighouse, Reay (around the 1830s/40s?) or his daughter Catherine, b. c. 1818 who later moved to Edinburgh? Catherine married twice, to John Ross, and to Henry Stewart. At some point she also lived in Dunbeath, Latheron. I think her mother was Jean Mackay; there seem to be more than one family with Donald and Jean as father and mother in this area, so I'm trying to unravel the tangled knot of Mackays! Any help appreciated, thanks.
