Up until Jan 13th this year it was possible to book X99 Apex tickets from my little village down to Inverness on the Citylink website . This service by City Link has been discontinued (?) according to City Link. Their advice was to contact Stagecoach Highland. Stagecoach Highland is an impenetrable site, a mystery wrapped up in a puzzle with a coating of enigma paste, and indicates if you want to get in touch with them, you have to write a letter with real ink and a quill pen to ask for permission to acquire a series of forms, which, when properly filled out, will be read by a committee, and an answer drafted and held until a further letter is received asking if there has been an outcome.

Have I missed something? Has the APEX ticket in advance service, or even X99 booking, been discontinued? Is there a friendly employee of either company who can give a poor benighted civilian a heads-up?

(http://www.citylink.co.uk/apex.php)Bus definitely stops at Latheronwheel.

H (http://www.citylink.co.uk/saleslocations.php)aving had another look at this and you are correct in that it no longer seems to allow the use of Latheronwheel bus shelter using the online form but you can book Apex from Lybster or Latheron Post Office. Rather odd for whatever reason. It matters not though as the price is the same as it would be from Latheronwheel. £16.24 return. Just type apex into the promotional code box when doing times and numbers of passengers etc. This is the same price from elsewhere in Caithness as the county is treated as one area only. It is pot luck depending on where you live if you get more or less travel time for your money!:D
