Would highly recommend John or Nicola Mowat . They are excellent. My family has used both in the past

I thought northener (an Orger) was a Driving Instructor - or am I out of date?

Yes, Adam Hendry, teaches you to drive, not just pass your test. Highly recommended.

I had a driving instructor who thought stopping distance increased linearly with speed! I dropped the idiot after two lessons.

You are right - and he was excellent - but he moved to either Orkney or Shetland a few months ago. Our loss, their gain.

They are all good. Its choosing one that suits the way you learn best.....I wasnt confident in my ability and needed incouragement rather than get on with it....its fine approach.....different strokes for different people.....etc...best if you get a few lessons under your belt then if you dont get on try someone else...or go with who is free when you need a lesson and swap when your preferred instructor is able....that way you are still learning something in the interm.Good luck btw!
