I was annoyed at the lack of O2 coverage in the north coast Caithness area last night, I've just had a look at their website and they do have a note up saying that they were carrying out engineering works which 'could' lead to loss of service. In case you are interested the same thing is planned for tonight so don't rely on your phone for contact with the outside world!
MAINTENANCE TO THE O2 2G DATA NETWORK
We’re carrying out maintenance on parts of the 2G data (GPRS) network between 22:00pm on 02/02/2012 and 06:00am on 03/02/2012.
This will result in the loss of 2G data services to sites for up to 1 hour in these areas:
· Stratford (1791146) · Rayleigh, Canvey Island, Southend-on-Sea (1791144) · Stoke Newington (1791148) · Dartford (1791150) · City of London (1791141) · N. Ireland (1788564 and 1788574)
· Parts of North Scotland (1788571 and 1788568)
Our 3G network will be working as normal.
