"If you don't take a deep breath, you will find yourself in jail"-sheriff

A MAN, who stood outside a house shouting and swearing and challenging a resident to fight, was given some sound advice by a sheriff yesterday.
Sheriff Andrew Berry told John Munro: “One lesson you will have to learn before you do or say anything, is to take a deep breath... otherwise you will find yourself in custody, again, and you will have no-one to blame but yourself.”
Munro, of Kirkhill, Wick, appeared from custody and admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, while holding a small pen knife.
Senior fiscal depute, David Barclay said there appeared to be no direct issues between the Munro and the youth he wanted to fight, 17-year-old Michael Duffy but might have had something to do with the fact that the accused had fallen out with a friend of the complainer.
Munro (20) was granted bail and will reappear in court on February 27 when the sheriff will see background reports.
