Remand for second time breach accused

A WICK woman who scorned the chance she received from a sheriff by breaching a bail condition for the second time in two days.
Cheryl Flemming, of Huddart Street, originally appeared from custody at Wick Sheriff Court with Peter Vercoelen, of 21 Kennedy Terrace, both Wick, on Monday, and pleaded guilty. They had previously been granted bail with a condition that they did not approach or contact each other, pending a forthcoming case.
However, the court was told that Flemming called at a temporary address in Kennedy Terrace, to collect some belongings she was surprised to find 45-year-old Vercoelen there. She had earlier been led to believe he would not be present.
Sheriff Andrew Berry accepted the explanation and admonished both accused. However, Flemming was back in court today and admitted again breaching the bail condition by calling on Vercoelen.
Fleming, who has several previous convictions, was ordered to be remanded in custody pending an appearance before Sheriff Berry, for sentence, on Monday.
