Defence lawyer claims there's no case to answer

FIVE men have been charged with the kidnap and attempted murder of Wick man James Ross in Portugal.
The father-of-two was allegedly subjected to horrific torture after he was lured to Portugal in October, 2010 with the promise of a job to pay off a £10,000 drug debt.
It is claimed that James Ross lost an ear, fingers, and toes and tendons slashed while he was held in captivity for almost a fortnight.
The five accused are Steven Johnson, Calum Macleod, Terence Quinn, Ronnie Rose and William McGurk, have denied all the charges. The trial will take place in the court at Loule.
Defence lawyer, Melo Alves, representing three of the defendants, said he expects the case against his clients to be thrown out.
