Twas Christmas Eve at midnight
And a tramp with haggard face
Was knocking at the door
Of a rich millionaire's palace.
The rich man in pyjamas
Trimmed with gold and costly fur
Said "What are you a-wanting of?"
The tramp replied "Dear Sir,
Please let me sleep on your doorstep tonight,
I'm homeless and cold and the snow's falling white,
The fire through your keyhole looks cosy and bright
So, please let me sleep on your doorstep tonight"

The rich man said "How dare you"
In a manner cold and chill
And from is freezing nose
He proudly wiped an icicle.
That night while his rich brother
slept on silk sheets trimmed with lace
The poor man slept and then the snowflakes fell
On his cock ace.
"Please let me sleep on your doorstep tonight,
I'm homeless and cold and the snow's falling white
The fire through your keyhole looks cosy and bright,
So please let me sleep on your doorsetep tonight.

The rich man called a constable and said
"Remove this man"
He shone his lamp - the rich man cried,
"Why that's my brother, Dan!
You want to sleep upon my doorstep,
You my brother Fred
You shall sleep on my doorstep
I didn't know you when yer said,
"Please let me sleep on your doorstep tonight,
I'm homeless and cold and the snow's falling white,
The fire through your keyhole looks cosy and bright,
So please let me sleep on your doorstep tonight"

The rich man caught pneumonia
Through standing in the cold
And soon at heavens pearly gates
He claimed his wings of gold.
The angel to the rich man said
"You can't come in Oh No"
The rich man said "Well as it's late and they're full up below,
Please let me sleep on your doorstep tonight
I'm homeless and the snow's falling white
The fire through your keyhole looks cosy and bright
So please let me sleep on your doorstep tonight.

The wings of gold the rich man'd claimed
Were meant for his homeless brother.
So, turned away from the heavenly gates,
He trudged his way to the other.
Upon his arrival at the gates of Hell
He noticed the cosy fire,
And stepping right up to the wide open door
He heard the strains of a choir...
"Please let me sleep on your doorstep tonight
I'm homeless and the snow's falling white
The fire through your keyhole looks cosy and bright
So please let me sleep on your doorstep tonight."

"Come in, come on in, don't stay on the step,"
The rich man was heartily greeted.
So he passed through the gate of no return
And soon by the fire was seated.
But shortly therafter the novelty wore off,
And he found himself wanting some water.
He asked for a glass, but got only a laugh
Said the devil, "You should thank me, you oughta."

"I saved you from heaven, from all those nice people
Who spent all their Sundays at kirk.
They blindly believed that Jesus has died
To save their poor souls from the murk.
And look where you are, you've avoided St. Peter,
And all of his children of God.
You've got what you wanted, all that you lived for,
You misguided ungodly sod."

(I never intended to write such dark rhyming,
It just sorta flowed from my head.
And it may offend some who've made it this far
But I truly believe what I've said.
The reason for Christmas is Jesus's birth,
He came to save us from the burning.
Turn over your heart, and make a fresh start
You be glad when you see him returning.)

I prefer my poem

I look around at the world before me,
Full of hate, love and things not for free.
my fellow men, they are naive,
Unprovable Gods they believe,
Free thought they lack indeed,
They only know how to breed!
We all don't believe in one God,
And i admit, i don't give a sod!
But they all believe in false hope,
while those around are taking dope,
But I just love and believe in reality
including its hate , love and Frailty!

I like mine better

I look all around at the world
And amid all the harshness and pain
I see smiles and love and a million acts
Of kindness for no monetary gain

There is hope in these small acts of kindness
There is love in the hearts of men
We can make a difference in some small way
We can reach out to each other again.

Whatever god you believe in
Whatever road you can see
Travel it wisely with love in your heart
And just be the best you can be.

Treat those that you meet with respect
With fairness and honesty too
Your life will be better for passing their way
And they will have gained things from you

At the end of our days when were gone
Who cares what we owned on this earth
The difference we make to each others lives
Is the true measure of value and worth

Its Christmas just now and whatever you think
About jesus his birth and the rest
I wish you all peace, health and happiness too
Merry Christmas I hope it’s the best.
