Court case heard in the cells after accused unable to make his way to the dock

WICK Sheriff Court was reconvened in the cells, below, after an accused was deemed to be too unwell to climb the internal stairs to the dock.
Scott Lindsay, of Sweyn Road, Thurso, made his second consecutive appearance, from custody, at Wick facing a similar charge of threatening or abusive behaviour and entering a house in Duncan Street, Thurso, while uninvited - for the second time within a 48-hour period.
The 35-year-old was allowed bail when he appeared on Wednesday but remained sitting with his head down, today, as Honorary Sheriff Bruce de Wert further remanded him until a sitting of the court on Monday when the accused is expected to tender a plea.
IN a separate custody case, a Wick offshore worker admitted assaulting a Thurso pensioner in a local fish and chip shop.
Andrew Miller, of Hill Avenue, Wick, punched 65-year-old Paul Connelly on the head at Robinís in Princes Street, Thurso, on Monday night. The 21-year-old accused, who admitted several previous convictions, was granted bail and will be sentenced on Monday.
He is subject to a 7pm-7am curfew meantime.
