Two accused of town centre assaults
TWO accused will stand trial in the New Year on assault charges.
The pair who appeared from custody at Wick Sheriff Court, today, were Ian Steven (19) of Oldwick Road, and 18-year-old Abbie Banks who lives in Bremner’s Walk, both Wick.
The charges allege that Banks slapped Steven in the face at the Wetherspoon’s pub in the town centre, yesterday, and early the following day, headbutted him on the Service Bridge where Steven is alleged to have grabbed his co-accused by the throat and pushed her to the ground.
Both accused pleaded not guilty to the offences and were granted bail. They will go to trial on February 28.

A THURSO woman had a smashing time on Christmas Day... but it could prove costly.
Katrina Williams, of Ormlie Crescent, broke a window at the front of a house in Murkle Terrace, Thurso,
Williams (35) was granted bail and will be sentenced on January 6. She has a number of previous convictions.
