Garage Converion Advise

Im looking to convert one of the garges at my property into an extra living space.

looking for advise from anyone who has already done so, is there planning required
, if so who and how can i get in touch and what problems if any did you come across.

any advise would be grand

Might not need planning but you will need building warrant. You'll need plans drawn up. You probably will need to upgrade the walls, roof and floor insulation levels.

cheers for the info. Any idea what a building warrant will cost? guessing its the council office who can advise that but they are shut for chirstmas and new year and just trying to get stuff planned out while ive got days off to get a rough price together

Link to building warrant fee guidance notes, it would be classed as a conversion of the garage worked out on floor area.
