Checked our outdoor thermometer at 07.30 this morning and it's reading 14C.. thought this was supposed to be Winter or is this a fluke reading!

I had the same reading but now the thermometer has given up the ghost; the shock I think!
Oh well, good to know we are having a balmy Boxing Day!

It's no fluke, it's reading 12.6c here
Weather patterns gone crazy but don't worry, it'll not last ;)
It's not a chart i like but the colours speak for themselves, the first is current and the second is for wednesday tea time lol you're looking at a difference of around 10 to 15c!
oh yeah, we're going to get gales again too! lol

This time last year we were negotiating to buy the shop that we are now in.

We called into the shop on Boxing day to have a measure up and found a burst water pipe inside the building.

Hi TAFKAL
Thought I was the only one with daft daffies, they have been inches deep in water for ages now but my daffies are about 6"+ high, the crocuses, snowdrops, tulips are all poking their spikes well through a couple of inches. Wonder what will happen when the cold snap comes in a couple of days.
Are having a fair bit of wind and rain at the moment. Neighbour left on Tarbert boat to go eventually to N Ireland - still in Uists, two very young children not liking 'the bumpy boat is making my tummy feel squissssshie', don't you feel sorry for a 2 year old who says that to you.
I have not unbattened the hatches since returning to the island in November. Only thing now is I think I may need some liferafts due to amount of rain that has come down since my return and a huge amount of excess water my 'kindly' neighbour decided to pump from his new build house's founds out into my hand dug ditch (yes by my own fair hand! and SEPA were here within 15 minutes thank goodness).
