I'm going to be on my own this Christmas and am wondering if anyone knows any elderly people that are struggling and would like me to cook Christmas dinner for them.

What a great gesture. I'd take you up on that offer but I'm not quite ready to accept that I am "elderly", yet......

I'm sure you will be kept busy on Christmas Day. :)

I am 37, and compared to what I felt when I was 18, feel quite elderly. Where do we get the dinner from? ;-)

You have no chance being in Orkney. Good try though. ;)

What a kind thought! I noticed this thread in the Volunteering section http://forum.caithness.org/showthread.php?154732-Befriending-Caithness-New-Group-Looking-For-Volunteers and wondered if perhaps you could contact them to see if they know of anyone who could use your help? Hope you have a great Christmas ;)

That is so good of you. A couple of years ago I tried to get a group of people who would be alone, in somewhere like the Boys Brigade hall where we could cook and eat christmas dinner and have company for christmas day but just couldnt get it off the ground. Maybe you could write to social work who could forward your request to people who will be alone at christmas, and I know there will be very many. Hope you have a really nice christmas.x

I am glad that I had a wee look at the link posted earlier as I was going to suggest getting in contact with the Laurandy centre. :D

What a lovely thoughtful gesture. :)
