Oil equipment consignment will have a police escort

NORTHERN CONSTABULARY have given advance notice about an abnormally heavy load which will be heading north from Invergordon on Saturday.
It will have a police escort as it makes its way up A9, from midday, through Ross-shire, Sutherland and into Caithness, stopping at Berriedale.
The load will resume its journey around 11.30hrs on Sunday, north on the A9 to Wick, the A99 and then the B876 towards Castletown. This movement is again, expected to be complete by 4pm.
The load, which consists of equipment for the oil industry, is of such a size that minor disruption could be caused to other traffic on the road.
The times of the movement have been identified to cause the least disruption to traffic travelling on these roads, however, motorists in the area should be mindful that they could come across the escorted load, adapt their driving accordingly and plan additional time for their journey.
The decision to move this load will be weather dependent and the public are thanked for their patience and assistance.
