Stewart and Leslie to tie the knot at Mey

SHE was once held as a baby at her christening, by the Queen Mother.
Now 30 years on, Lesley Sinclair is going to hold her wedding in the late monarch’s favourite home the Castle of Mey.
The wedding with a fairytale ring to it is set to take place on Hogmanay when Lesley will tie the knot with Stewart Campbell, we’re told in the latest edition of the The Mail on Sunday.
Lesley was naturally unaware of the chance guest at her christening at Thurso’s West Church, all those years ago. The Queen Mother arrived to worship privately at the kirk, in October 1982 but was diplomatically advised there was a christening was taking place. Her Majesty insisted on watching from a a pew at the back of the church for the ceremony and was invited to hold baby Lesley in her arms.
Not every bride can boast such a royal patronage and it set Lesley and her husband-to-be thinking.
Wouldn't it be a lovely sequel to hold the wedding in the Castle of Mey, and that’s exactly what’s going to happen. The Castle started doing weddings a couple of years ago and all the arrangements have been made. Many of the staff who looked after Her Majesty during her three-times-a-year visits north, have altered their own plans to do the necessary at the big day.
James Murray spokesman for the Castle of Mey Trust is quoted as saying: “We try to make every couple’s day special but this will be particularly so, given it is taking place on Hogmanay and the bride’s links to the Queen Mother.”
