Cancer patients having treatment, are fighting for their lives. Yet the Government is proposing to change the rules, so all cancer patients will have to go through a stressful assessment to prove they are unable to work.

Here is a link to a petition.

Have already signed this via Mcmillan cancer website.

Cancer diagnosis is bad enough in itself without adding to the stress of the rules being changed again. It is only about ten years ago the previous archaic rules were overturned to allow someone with a terminal cancer diagnosis to get DLA immediately and without hassle.... this is going back to the dark ages.

Anyone I have met during my husband`s treatments at both Western General in Edinburgh and Raigmore in Inverness all say "What you see on the outside does not reflect the way we feel inside". Statements like that can`t be quantified on a form or at a medical panel.

Good for you, signing the petition. I posted this, as i wasn't sure how many would have known about it. The last sentence about the way we feel inside, is oh so true.
