Michael was "a joy to be about...he seemed to light up a room"

A WICK mother who lost her grown-up son this week has been paying tribute to him.
Catherine McNeill found 23-year-old Michael dead in his bed at their home in the town’s Glamis Road, earlier this week. He had battled a serious medical condition throughout his life.
Mrs McNeill-Michael was her only son- said she was very proud of Michael and said: “He never complained and he would do anything for anybody. He was a joy to be about...he seemed to light up a room when he joined other people’s company”.
Michael was born with a cyst at the base of his skull which left him prone to epileptic attacks and the breathing disorder, sleep apnoea. Mr McNeill suspect he may have succumbed to an onset of the condition in his sleep.
Michael was a Wick Academy FC stalwart and a staunch Celtic fan. He made light of illness and enjoyed a full social life which included doing volunteer work in a local charity shop.
