Council staff to get extra holiday
HIGHLAND Council’s Resources Committee has agreed to grant its workforce an additional annual leave day to mark the diamond jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.
This will take place on either Monday 4 June or Tuesday 5 June.
The indication given at the Resources Committee was that Monday 4 June was the more likely day to be chosen but this would be confirmed following discussions with trade unions and once the planned UK-wide celebrations were confirmed.
The decision is in line with those taken by the UK and Scottish Governments to grant an additional one-off bank holiday on Tuesday 5 June 2012.
