When I was at college in Newcastle, the local hippiesdown the street were growing it in their front window in a Gro-bag alongside some tomato plants. Might have been fine if they hadn't been right opposite the best Chinese takeout in the Northeast (as voted by readers of the Evening Chronicle many years in a row). Lots of patrol cars used to park outside there while the bobbies picked up their dinner. It was only a matter of time before one of them glanced up and they got busted.
Over here in the US there was a report yesterday of a woman who phoned the cops to get her estranged boyfriend removed from her flat. The guy didn't take it well and turned her in for a fatal hit and run accident a few weeks ago.
