Just wondered does anyone know if there is a training exercise on at the airport? There seems to be a lot of activity up there right now, flashing lights, vehicles rushing about.

They are currently replacing all Runway and Taxiway Lights at a cost of £1 Million pounds which is being done in silent hours through the night. Also shortly the Runway is due to be Resurfaced but no start date set yet. so lots of work ongoing up there just now.

you are ony looking at lamps there though and not complete fittings, these days it is all LED tech they use.
