"Ah! on Thanksgiving day....
When the care-wearied man seeks his mother once more,
And the worn matron smiles where the girl smiled before.
What moistens the lips and what brightens the eye?
What calls back the past, like the rich pumpkin pie?"
~John Greenleaf Whittier

Happy Thanksgiving oh good people across the pond.

And to those not across it too!

John: I, on the other side of the pond, thank you for your Thanksgiving greeting.

Canuck thanksgiving happened back in mid-October, but I echo your greetings to those south of the border.

And, as one originally from Caithness, I recall annual "harvest thanksgiving" celebrations at the local kirk. It was all decorated with sheaves of corn and garden/field veggies. Afterwards, produce was shared around the village.

Has this tradition gone the way of the dodo?

Think so,the only thing i had to do with thanksgiving was watch the Dallas Cowboys game on Sky.
Dont know the reasons why but Dallas at home are always one of the 3 games shown on Thanksgiving.
