Some people are very superstitious, I know I am.
Some wear blue to protect from evil or witches.
Itch in the foot means u are going to travel to a strange place.
If a broom/ brush falls a stranger will arrive.
There are so many, but the one that most people know is the
Ladder.
For me i am very superstitious. What about u ???

I think the closest I come to being superstitious is, if I pick up a coin in the street, I hand it to the person who's with me.

Copper coins only, of course :lol:

I always think of this one...

See a pin
Pick it up
All that day
You'll have... a pin

Look at the couple who shared the lotto rollover last week netting I think something around 9 million. The wife broke a mirror and they bought their ticket on Friday the 13th. The next day theyscooped the Jackpot.

Double, double, toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.
Fillet of a fenny snake
In the cauldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and owlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth, boil and bubble.
Double, double, toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.[disgust]

What was that you sneaked in my glass sapphire?

I got married on Friday 13th just to prove that superstitions are a load of baloney.

It would be interesting to know how all these superstitions started in the first place. Walking under a ladder is just common sense - unless you want to be hit on the head by a falling object - but what about the others? My mother always went outside to see the new moon, as seeing it through the window was a bad omen. If by accident you did happen to see it, you had to turn siver over and bow to the moon seven times. Also breaking a mirror. To break the curse, you had to bury seven peices in the garden.
Me I'm not superstitious - but I always touch wood when I say something might happen that i don't want. But that's habit.

I shout "Rabbits! Rabbits! Rabbits!" every time I pass the Split Stane. That is the only superstitious ritual I do. It has brought me luck and a safe journey so far, touch wood. Oh, there's another! :)

I was very superstitious when I used to go fishing, there were some everyday words thAt were taboo & a certain person if ye saw him , yturn back & restart yer journey.
Nowadays it just seems a bit sily & outdated im afraid:eek:

Geesh - I was wondering if you were going to admit that part of it - especially as it was the 13th of May = "Marry in May - rue the day" - lol [lol]
