Why does my fire alarm keep cheeping as it the battery is done when its wired in to the electric?

Because by law it has to have a back-up battery in case of power cuts.. It only means the battery is dying and needs a new one. Its only a 5 min job to fit.

You can play the helpless female and ask a kind male neighbour to bring his ladder and change your battery, making sure you have one!

Or, you can go to Homebase and get a stepladder which is very handy to have in the house anyway.

I know I have two of different heights and wouldn't be without them. Good luck! :)
