Just had a look at the site of the hardware store in Wick - http://www.caithness-business.co.uk/go.php?url=http://www.birons.co.uk - and I am very impressed with all the useful stock they carry!

Kevin, Dawn and head of security (Casper the dog) should be proud of themselves for building up a great shop that seems to stock just about everything!

I like the solid fuel stoves and having experienced similar to them myself I can say they are very efficient! Used to burn peat in ours and it heated all the radiators in the house. Even had to open the windows in wintertime if the amount of fuel was miscalculated!

Well done to you all and I hope you have plenty sledges in stock as I don't think the snow is too far away!

When down in Edinburgh earlier this month went to go into a very large store - practically everyone was coming out with one or two huge snow shovels, they were polycarbon I think, in the time I was there saw 5 pallet loads of them being sold - folk were certainly buying up in preparation for heavy snowfalls.
Sledges were going quickly too.

Kevins shop in Bridge street has a great little oil lamp for about £4, it's really good.

Nothing wrong with an Oil Lamp/ that is what I did my homework to until I was 14.
Between that Oil Lamp and Miss (Shorty) Robertson throwing things at me and doing the pointer thingy, it held me in good stead!
Oh forgot...Elizabeth Briggs doing the singing...among aother things...
And MacIntyre & Brooks giving me the belt it was quite a WONDERFUL LIFE>
