Former officer awaiting tribunal's verdict

A FORMER Caithness police sergeant, who lost his job for failing to lodge crime reports, is attempting to get his job back.
Forty-one-year-old Alex Forbes has lodged an appeal and appeared before the Police Appeals Tribunal earlier this month.
Mr Forbes neglected his duty by not filing two cases to the procurator fiscal, on time. An internal misconduct inquiry by Northern Constabulary bosses concluded that the officer was “required to resign.
A spokesman for the Northern Branch of the Scottish Police Federation confirmed that the appeal had been heard, and they were awaiting the tribunal’s findings.
