Street Party

Last I heard Wick Street Party wasn't going ahead this year. Can anyone shed any light on this ?

I used to 'tune in' every year via the Video link/camera that didn't work!

but seriously guys.. is there going to be a street party this year? not seen any adverts for it.. the haunted house, or bonfire night.. any of it going on this year?

The Street Party in wick was organised by HAPPY a sub group of the Wick Community Council http://www.spanglefish.com/wickcommunitycouncil/. They did advertise for more volunteers but were unsuccessful. A message is on the Wick Commuinty Council Web site as follows -

It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that the HAPPY committee will no longer be holding the street party in 2011. This is due to a lack of active volunteers available on the night. HAPPY would like to thank the people of Wick for turning out to support them year after year, since the millennium.
