I am running XP Home Edition and have the following two (2) files and I'd like to know what they are and if I can delete them?

1. Device Function Q Folder;
2. Device Management Q Folder.


I have a : Compaq D300v mini-tower

Are these the actual folder names Device Function Q and Device Management Q? If so are they empty?

I wouldn't go ahead and delete the folders especially as you're not sure what they do. I'd rename them which will tell you two things:


If the folder can't be renamed it could be 'locked' by an application or process. If that's thw case then they are being used. We then find out what is actually using them.
If you rename it and something breaks then you can easily rename it back to what it was originally. It will again also tell you if something is using it.Never delete a folder if you're not sure what it does. Always rename it first, just in case!
