Teenager alleged to have made death threats to police

A SCRABSTER teenager is to stand trial on series of charges of disorderly conduct and police assault.
Dominic Long, of Holborn Avenue, Scrabster, appeared from custody at Wick Sheriff Court today and pleaded not guilty to all counts, through his agent, solicitor, Ken Ferguson.
The charges accuse Long of disorderly conduct and shouting and swearing at police officers, at 17 St Clair Avenue, Scrabster, kicking Constable Laura Murray and spitting at her; on the way to Wick police station threatening to kill her and Constable Michael Hewitt, and their children, and attempting to spit at Sgt Donald MacDonald, at the station
Long was granted bail and will return to court for his trial on November 24.
*Another of the week’s custodies cases involved Lee Brogan, who pleaded guilty to spitting at cameras in a police cell at Wick, and attempting to damage his clothing, but denied behaving in a disorderly manner in Kennedy Terrace, Wick.
Senior fiscal depute, David Barclay intimated that he was not accepting the pleas, and a trial date was fixed for November 24 for Brogan (33) who lives in Kennedy Terrace. The offences are alleged to have occurred on Saturday.
*Marion Macaulay denies behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, by banging on a door in Harrow Terrace, Wick, on Saturday, and attempting to force entry.
She will stand trial on November 24.
