Dress making/Sewing machine lessons??? in Thurso???

Hi All

I have been trying to self teach myself how to use a sewing machine and I am failing :(

I was wondering if anyone knows of any lessons/groups that teach basic sewing machine skills in Thurso?

and if not does anyone know of any good beginner books/guides I did get some from the library but they weren't very user friendly.

Did you ever find anyone? I have been sewing for around 50 years, and patchwork and quilting for the last 10. I have never taught anyone, but would be willing to try, if you are interested. I live in Latheronwheel, but have a car, and could travel if necessary.
