Pipeline order will trigger jobs boost
CAITHNESS is set to benefit from a multi-million pound oil industry contract.
It has been awarded to SubSea 7's Wester fabrication yard which will assemble the world's longest pipline bundle stretching 17 miles into the yard's hinterland.
The contract for the pipeline, to cap a new reservoir in BP's Kinnoull Field in the North Sea, will create scores of jobs.
Far North MSP Rob Gibson said it was "great news" for the Far North. It also demonstrated the oil giant's confidence in the North Sea and would ensure a continuation of work at Wester.
