Thanks for that Dave, I just looked up the Waverley, my fav. steam ship, she is moored in the Solent at the moment.

Took a trip on the Waverley out of Portree harbour; a grand ship!

I know I sailed on her when I was a kid, goodness knows where it was though.
She was moored up in Preston docks for a while, had a good look around her then at the same time as Richard Madely did one of his early reports for Look Northwest.
So that was a while ago too. She really has got a magic about her, I can still see the water sloshing around the paddles.

I found a good recent photo in the Clyde, just departing Millport Pier in August.

It was an observation on my part and if your conversation starts by ignoring the person who started it, our conversation will be very short :-)

I find this website easier on the eye for live shipping movements http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/

As for being totally random and moving on from the QE and the Waverley -this live website http://www.flightradar24.com/ is great if you ever wonder where that plane flying overhead you is heading! Scary to look at all those yellow planes right over London at one time!

Here is a picture of Queen Elizabeth. I've never sailed on her and as far as I am aware, she has never docked at Millport. Last seen steaming south.

Happy now? [lol]
