Yay! The cinema is coming to Lybster! Pirates of the Caribbean 4, On stranger tides, is showing in Lybster Hall at 6.15pm on Sunday 4th September. Other films booked for September and October are fast and Furious 5 and Kung Fu Panda 2.

I hear there is potential for lots more new release films if this is a success :D

Dont forget to come along to Lybster Hall this Sunday! The more support we have for this event, the more films we can secure for the future! :D

My one concern is you can't book. Don't really want to travel to get there and find its fully booked.

how can it be fully booked if you can't book ? :confused

there is no booking system, as is normal for a cinema, arrive early to avoid disappointment

we went to the showing in Skinandis tonight and it was great, very busy, but still seats for everyone
all the volunteers who run these nights deserve a piece of eight or some rum or some other pirate related reward, they really go to a lot of effort.

roll on Kung Fu Panda 2 :D

So why doesnt the lybster community not use the ticket sales to invest in having a permenant projector fixed in the hall. Projectors are not as expensive as what the used to be

Aye...them were the days! No names but one nite we all waited for the pictures to arrive, and the we heard that the van carrying same and flipped over at Remiggy.. So off we all set, found the rolls of films and the records and helped set the 'thing' up. Unfortunately the sequence of the film rolls(containers) got mixed up so it was a wee bitty of a jumble....like last roll second etc etc., and the mannie who was doing it was a tad unsteady on his feet!

Yes it would be nice to see some 'culture' in Lybster!

Looks like King Fu Panda 2 might be on hold until the start of November due to unexpected distribution problems...... but the good news is that Harry Potter 7 is likely to take its place for 2nd October :)
