[mad] I am so annoyed that NHS Highland has not taken up the offer of a free CT scanner for Caithness General Hospital. they are getting it free but say they can not afford the running costs.
This would be of such help to stroke and cancer patients, patients with neurological problems and other patients, who in the meantime have to travel to Raigmore for a scan.
The North British Hotel Trust pledged to donate the £350,000 cost of the scanner over a year ago. If the NHS dont hurry up and decide, they will lose out on this lifesaving equipment. It is unbelievable to think that this scanner could be up and running in wick now and saving lives. It would be a big boost to the Caithness people. NHS Highland are still working out the cost of running the scanner in wick and if they dont hurry up, the offer will be withdrawn. I really feel we should protest about this, sign a massive petition and send it to NHS Highland before time runs out.
What do you think???? :evil [disgust] :evil

It's just another sign of their intentions towards CGH. The way they are looking at it is why put a brand new engine in a car you are sending to the Scrap Heap!

Forcing everybody to go to Raigmore means they can say that they can use the argument that it should be the only Hospital in the Highlands because most patients have to go their anyway!

It's just another of their "Slimy Little Tricks" to boost the need for their marvellous "Centre of Excellence"
