Bangs were ordnance testing
THE mystery of bangs which have been shattering the Caithness peace, recently, has been solved.
The source is ordnance testing being carried out by a contractor near Loch More. Police were inundated with calls from residents following the latest blast, yesterday afternoon.
The Government-licensed test are being carried out by Northumberland-based Ordnance Test Solutions Ltd. It has permission to carry out the operation on Ulbster Estate.
The bad news is that there is likely to be a couple more blasts over the next couple of days.
