This is great news for the town. Now my grand-daughter will be going to a brand new state of the art primary school.

i think it is a good thing , most of the schools are needing replaced and all the schools are not full , it doesnt make sense to leave things the way they are

Its great news to see such an investment in the children of our town.I am a little worried about the size of the schools. My concern is that it will be a case of putting the children into as big a class as possible and then less teachers will be required.By investing money in two schools they can save money in the long term on maintanance and upkeep of schools as well as on wages by paying off teachers and support staff.I dont mean to be a pessimist but in all my years I have learned one thing you get nothing for nothing.Dont mean to rain on anyones parade it is good news for the town.

also, hope they make allowance for growth, as there may be a boost in numbers over the coming years.. but all in all they have my approval if that counts for anything.. just hope that they can work out the traffic as its very fiddly at academy!

They should concentrate on getting the High School up and working before looking to anything else. Has a date for starting and completion been agreed yet??

They should start building the new ones before they shut the ones we've got now.

Why should they?

The paragraph below was taken from the Pulteneytown/South school proposals

Staff and pupils will remain in the existing school buildings at Pulteneytown Academy and South Primary Schools while the new school is being constructed. They will move to the new school once it has been completed, thereby avoiding temporary decanting arrangements and minimising any disruption to learning and teaching during the construction phase.

The same paragraph can be seen in the North/Hillhead proposals

Staff and pupils will remain in the existing school buildings at Hillhead and North Primary Schools while the new school is being constructed. They will move to the new school once it has been completed, thereby avoiding temporary decanting arrangements and minimising any disruption to learning and teaching during the construction phase.

They are proposing to construct the new schools before moving the children and turning their attention to the old school buildings :D
