Hi all i was wondering if anyone knows of a support group for women who suffer from endometrisis in caithness/sutherland area?
Endometriosis is a cronic illness in which there is too much lining of the womb it can be Very painful and causes lots of problems including becoming infertile. In caithness however i find very little advice or support from gyne although the GP has been helpful.

I was diagnosed with endomitriosis 13 years ago and never even offered any treatment of any sort, so I doubt if there is a support group. I find it odd that it can be diagnosed through a laproscopy yet never be mentioned again by any doctor.

I am sorry to hear that you suffer from this painful and cronic condition, I suffer at grade 4 endo it has left me infertile. I too was diagnosed by laperoscopy, Yes i know how you feel after i was diagnosed they too left me for some years untill it made me so ill i was admitted to hospital and slept for two days it caused me to have lots of ovarian cysts. Since then i was put on a hormone treatment and told to get pregnant and that will sort it out. EERR hello it has left me infertile. I found that the gyne offered no support at all and the Doctor was sympathetic but very little advice given. The only specialist that was any good at all was Mr Valantine but he has left caithness some years ago. I am disgusted at the lack of support or advice in our area on this awfull disease, wich effects millions of women worldwide. I have done some research and can find no support or advice groups at all in caithness, If anyone knows of one please let me know. Thank you.

Unfortunately, because of where we live, there is a shortage of support groups for many health-related conditions which is a real shame. Why not have a go at setting up your own group?

I too suffered from Endomertriosis & you are very much left on your own to get on with it with very little sympathy. I was very lucky & able to have 2 children but did have a hysterectomy at the age of 26 which has helped lots.
