Appears we are getting upgraded to 21Cn WBC in March next year. From there you should be able to order ADSL2+ products which offer up to 20mb.

Absolutely fantastic news!

I was thinking about changing ISP's at the moment but I think I'll hold off rather than getting tied in!

Not for the Wick exchange it seems, either that or it's not been updated. http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/NSWIC I was always under the impression the Thurso exchange was routed via Wick, perhaps it isn't.

I notice Sam is now saying 31-12-2011 for Thurso (this of course means between 1st October and 31st December as BT work in quarters [that is unless they put it back at some point])
Surprised that no date is given for Wick yet.

There's an upgrade happening to the exchanges in October but that's more a leased line/private circuit thing as opposed to general consumer ADSL. Perhaps the other upgrade work went faster than expected.

I wish you folks the best with your new broadband upgrade. I lost mine a few days ago, but got it back again after checking with my provider. I was lost without it.

Just had a phone call from my ISP, Talk Talk, offering me a reduction in my bill since the Wick telephone exchange has now been unbundled. First I had heard of it and not according to http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/NSWIC

Anyone else heard about this? Any other ISPs got their equipment in the Wick exchange?

I also had TT on the phone and they said that mine was too and giving me a reduced rate if i take a 12 month contract again. Im in Thurso and it just looks like them trying to get you into a contract again cause they know we will have ADSL+2 soon and they want to make sure you dont change to another provider.

As for the dates for Thurso - The first date was 31st Sept 2011 and then it got changed to 31st Dec 2011. Now its meant to be the end of March 2012!!!!!
Come March, It will probably change again to the end of June 2012 lol
