View Full Version : Pulteneytown People's Project Arts and Crafts Showcase

27-Jul-11, 14:20
Get ready to be captivated by some of the finest artists and craftspeople Caithness has to offer as Pulteneytown People’s Project opens the doors to its Arts and Crafts Showcase.
Held at Wick Youth Club on July 30-31 members of PPP’s arts and crafts groups will be displaying their wonderful talents for the public’s pleasure from 10am to 4pm on the Saturday and 12pm to 4pm on the Sunday.
Those exhibiting will be coming from all over Caithness with an incredible range of paintings, quilts, cross stitching, knitting and textile art to display.
PPP Ladies Hobbies Group will be entering pieces and they couldn’t be more excited. Members of the group said: “We’re looking forward to displaying some of our quilts and cards. We’ve been coming for a few years now and made lots of different things so it will be nice to have a chance to show them off.
“Some of our members have only just joined and made beautiful quilts in such a short space of time. I’m sure people will be very impressed by them and we hope they enjoy coming along to view them.
“We’ll be displaying quilts, cushions, shawls, cross stitching and bags. That’s just our group though, there are lots of other groups doing different types of arts and crafts.”
Along with all the artistic masterpieces will be lots of information on PPP and the new Community Centre being built on Huddart Street. This will be the perfect chance to discover how PPP can help you or learn about what we are doing in the community now and in the future.
A donation will be asked for at the door as an entry fee, and tea, coffee and home baking will be available to purchase. There will also be a raffle to win some special prizes – the top prize being original artwork by PPP arts and crafts tutors Karyn Fraser and Bettine Bain. All money made will go towards tutor costs for the arts and crafts groups to allow these sessions to continue and develop.
Everybody is welcome; please bring all your friends and family to enjoy this special weekend.
