Passenger landed in Western Isles

LOCHINVER lifeboat kept a rendezvous with a cruise ship today, after receiving a report of a passenger who had taken ill.
The lifeboat was diverted while crossing Minch to Stornoway for her six-monthly review when Stornoway coastguards contacted her about the emergency.
The 4000 ton passenger liner, Crown Prince, was en route to Belfast at the time.
The lifeboat came alongside her at 9am and the passenger and his partner, accompanied by a member of the liner’s medical team, were transferred.
The man was landed at Stornoway half-an-hour later and conveyed to the local hospital by ambulance.
