View Full Version : Help with radishes ?
Hi,
I've planted two, tiny rows of radishes for the first time and, although they are growing great, I can see that "something" is nipping at the leaves.
There is nothing, that I can see, physically on the leaves, so could this be an insect of some sort and what can I do to stop it before, whatever beastie it is, does much more damage to them ?
Thanks for any help or advice !
Last year my radishes came to nothing, so this year planted them in the greenhouse. They've come up a treat, and are huge!
Anything growing outside is fair game for slugs, catterpillars, birds etc. If there is most of the leaf left and the tubers are OK then don't worry. Mine are inside a polytunnel and are doing very well, a bit too well as I planted far too many and every seed seems to germinate and grow very quickly under cover.
Thank you both for your replies. :)
Yes, muffin, most of the leaves are intact, so I'll take your advice, and not be concerned about it. Thank you for putting my mind at rest - I had visions of them all disappearing overnight, LOL !!!
P/S muffin - If mine don't come to anything, I'll maybe "nick" some of yours outta your polytunnel and pretend they're mine, LOL !!

Yep, I think thats exactly what is attacking my radishes, Kevin ! [evil]
The symptoms and damage to the leaves look exactly the same as in the photo - thanks for that ! :)
